Our Commitment to Your Privacy
At 1791 Entertainment, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data — if any — is handled when you visit our website or use our apps.
Scope
This policy covers:
- The 1791entertainment.com website
- All apps published by 1791 Entertainment on the App Store, except What Was I Watching, which has its own policy because it uses additional third-party services
For What Was I Watching (iOS, watchOS, Android), see the What Was I Watching Privacy Policy.
Our Website
Most of this website collects no data at all. Two specific sections use limited analytics:
- /wwiw/ — the What Was I Watching landing page
- /show/ and /show/* — deep-link fallback pages shown when a shared show link is opened without the app installed
All other pages of the site use no cookies, no tracking pixels, no analytics, and no advertising networks.
Analytics on /wwiw/ and /show/
On the pages listed above, we load:
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID
G-4S34Y3FC5G) — aggregate pageview and click measurement. We use it to understand traffic sources and whether visitors click through to the App Store or Google Play. GA4's default data retention applies (currently 14 months). We do not use it for advertising audiences or cross-site remarketing. - Reddit Pixel (pixel ID
a2_iuyy4xsw1vvw) — only on /wwiw/. Used to attribute visitors who arrive from Reddit advertising campaigns. Records aPageVisitevent on page load and aLeadevent when a visitor clicks an App Store or Google Play button. See Reddit's privacy policy. Reddit Pixel is not loaded on /show/ pages.
Protections in place:
- Do Not Track is honoured. If your browser sends the DNT header, no tracking scripts load at all — GA4 and Reddit Pixel are skipped entirely.
- User-entered URL parameters are stripped before reporting. Shared show links may carry
from=andnote=parameters (a sender's name and a personal note). These are removed from the URL before any analytics call, so that personal text never reaches GA4 or Reddit. - We do not use advertising cookies, social media plugins, or any cross-site tracking beyond GA4 and Reddit Pixel's defaults.
Opting out: enable Do Not Track in your browser, install a content blocker (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger), or use the official Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
Our Apps
Our apps do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). Specifically, our apps:
- Do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any account — there is no sign-up and no login
- Do not use third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs
- Do not collect advertising identifiers or track you across apps
- Do not send your data to any server we operate — we do not run a backend that receives user data
- Do not contain in-app purchases
Apple Platform Services Our Apps Use
Our apps use standard Apple platform services. These are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to the underlying data beyond what Apple's frameworks expose.
iCloud (CloudKit)
App data — such as your game state, progress, or preferences — is stored in your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit framework. This keeps the data in sync across your Apple devices. We cannot read, access, or retrieve this data. It stays tied to your Apple ID.
You can delete the data at any time via Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, or by uninstalling the app.
Game Center (games only)
Our games optionally integrate with Apple's Game Center for leaderboards and achievements. Participation is controlled entirely by your iOS Game Center settings. Any Game Center profile information (nickname, scores) is managed by Apple — we only receive the minimum necessary to display leaderboards, and it is never tied to any PII on our side (we hold none).
Crash reporting (Apple-provided)
If you have opted in via Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers, Apple may share anonymised crash diagnostics with us to help us fix bugs. This is an Apple-managed opt-in setting — we do not use Crashlytics, Sentry, or any third-party crash reporter.
Permissions
Our apps do not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photo library, or any other sensitive permissions beyond what the operating system grants by default.
Children's Privacy
Our apps are not directed at children under 13. Because our apps have no account system and collect no personal data, there is nothing a child's parent would need to request deletion of beyond uninstalling the app.
Contact Information
When you contact us via email or other communication methods, the information you provide will be used solely to respond to your inquiry and will not be shared with third parties or used for marketing purposes.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date below.
